About Me
I’m Mykeia Garrett, LGPC, NCC , licensed therapist and founder of The UnTherapy Spot. I believe healing should be clinical, but still deeply human.
I’ve done sessions while clients sat in their cars, cooked dinner, or hid out in bathrooms. Sometimes it was tele-audio on their way to work, just to make sure they still got the support they needed. Because the truth is, not everyone has the time to sit on a couch in silence, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve a session.
This year, during a personal season of transition, I was abruptly ripped from my 19 year federal government career. My life shifted. I noticed that I was still showing up for my clients. I was going to my own therapy sessions. I was doing “the work” the work that needed to be done and yet, I still longed for something more. Something that didn’t require an appointment to make me feel okay.
A deeper layer of The UnTherapy Spot was curated not just as a therapy space, but as a lifestyle rooted in emotional support.
This brand was built from two simple truths:
1. Healing is not one size fits all.
2. Sometimes, you just need something or someone to help you through it.
It’s a space that bridges clinical care with emotional connection. A place where evidence based therapy meets real life. A reminder that support doesn’t have to look perfect to be powerful.

The UnTherapy Spot stands on three core pillars:
-
Meeting People Where They Are – emotionally, physically, and situationally.
-
Emotional Support You Can Feel – both in therapy and in what you carry with you.
-
Inclusive Healing – for all people, all identities, and all stories.
This isn’t your typical therapy brand.
But then again, I’m not your typical therapist.
And maybe that’s exactly what you’ve been looking for.
